Per episode

The Screening/Surveillance Colonoscopy episode-based cost measure evaluates the risk-adjusted cost to Medicare for beneficiaries who receive this procedure. Performance is assessed at the clinician (Tax Identification Number-National Provider Identifier [TIN-NPI]) and group (Tax Identification Number [TIN]) levels. A measure score reflects the average risk-adjusted cost per episode across all episodes attributed to the clinician or group during the performance period.
