    • 1.14 Numerator

      Discharges, for patients ages 18 years and older or MDC 14 (pregnancy, childbirth, and puerperium), with either:
      • any-listed ICD-9-CM procedure codes for esophageal resection; or
      • any-listed ICD-9-CM procedure codes for gastrectomy and any-listed ICD-9-CM diagnosis codes for esophageal cancer.

    • 1.15 Denominator
