1.3 Measure Description

This measure describes the change in functional communication status subsequent to speech-language pathology treatment related to spoken language comprehension.

    • 1.14 Numerator

      Number of stroke patients who make progress as defined by an increase of one or more levels on the Spoken Language Comprehension Functional Communication Measure (FCM).

    • 1.15 Denominator

      Number of stroke patients scored on the Spoken Language Comprehension Functional Communication Measure (FCM).

    • Exclusions

      Patients discharged from speech-language pathology services after only one treatment session. Patients who are not candidates for memory treatment as demonstrated by the highest level of functioning on admission (Level 7 on the Spoken Langauge Comprehension Functional Communication Measure).
