We are pleased to announce all 2024 Measure Set Review (MSR) preliminary assessments (PAs) are now available for public comment. This includes PAs of 13 measures in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) program, which were published for a 30-day public comment period on August 21. Battelle develops these PAs based on updated information about measure properties and performance, with input from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) quality program leads and measure developers and stewards. Please submit comments by September 20, 2024.
The goal of the MSR process is to optimize CMS’ measure portfolio by reviewing measures in Medicare quality programs and making recommendations about their continued use. Public comments on the PAs will inform discussions during the upcoming 2024 MSR Recommendation Group Meeting, September 30 – October 1, 2024. Register to observe the MSR Recommendation Group Meeting.
After reviewing the evidence presented in the PAs, commenters are encouraged to share their support or concerns for recommending a measure’s continued use in a specific program.
