Measure Set Review (MSR)

The MSR process supports consensus recommendations on the continued use of measures for Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) quality reporting and value-based payment programs.
Through measure evaluation and consensus building, members of the MSR Recommendation Group help optimize and balance the CMS measure portfolio via recommendations about the continued use of measures.

MSR Recommendation Group

A select group of PRMR committee members are identified and invited to serve on the MSR Recommendation Group. MSR Recommendation Group appointment is on an annual basis and membership is guided by the type of measures under review for each MSR cycle. Members appointed to a given MSR cycle have more opportunities to provide feedback by participating in both the MSR and the PRMR processes. The MSR Recommendation Group includes 20 to 25 members and is inclusive of representatives across the three different settings in the PRMR process.
