The Partnership for Quality Measurement’s final Measure Set Review (MSR) Recommendation Report and Spreadsheet are now available. In October, the MSR group reviewed 15 measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) End-Stage Renal Disease Quality Incentive Program (ESRD QIP) to help optimize the program’s measure portfolio by recommending measures to retain or remove. Based on their assessment, the MSR group recommended removing two measures from the ESRD QIP.
The recommendations to remove a measure are based on updated information on the measure’s properties, performance trends, and whether the measure continues to support the ESRD QIP’s needs and priorities. The goal of the ESRD QIP is to establish incentives for facilities to achieve high-quality performance on measures to improve outcomes for ESRD beneficiaries. ESRD QIP measure categories include anemia management, dialysis adequacy, and patient satisfaction, among others. Review the October meeting summary to learn more about the event.
