Number of colorectal cancer resection pathology reports containing selected mandatory elements from the College of American Pathologists (“CAP”) Cancer Checklist for Colorectal Resections, January 2005 revision.
All of the following data elements must be present in a pathology report to be counted as positive in the numerator. The elements to be collected are as follows:
1.Specimen type/procedure
2.Tumor site
3.Tumor size
4.Histologic tumor type
5.Histologic grade
6.# nodes examined
7.# nodes involved
8.Proximal margin status
9.Distal margin status
10.Circumferential/radial margin status
11.Lymphatic (small vessel) invasion
12.Venous (large vessel) invasion
13.Staging information (pT)
