  • Admissions with a principal diagnosis of asthma per 100,000 population, ages 2 through 17 years. Excludes cases with a diagnosis code for cystic fibrosis and anomalies of the respiratory system, obstetric admissions, and transfers from other institutions.

    [NOTE: The software provides the rate per population. However, common practice reports the measure as per 100,000 population. The user must multiply the rate obtained from the software by 100,000 to report admissions per 100,000 population.]

  • This measure calculates a casemix-adjusted inpatient average length of stay (ALOS) for medical and surgical admissions for Commercial and Medicare populations. The measure can be reported at the hospital level or the service category level (medical vs. surgical).

Computed Tomography (CT) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Reports

  • Percentage of final reports for CT or MRI studies of the brain performed within 24 hours of arrival to the hospital for patients aged 18 years and older with the diagnosis of ischemic stroke or TIA or intracranial hemorrhage that includes documentation of the presence or absence of each of the following: hemorrhage and mass lesion and acute infarction.
