1.3 Measure Description

Percentage of patients at least 18 years of age and younger than 80 with back pain who have received an epidural steroid injection in the absence of radicular pain AND those patients with radicular pain who received an epidural steroid injection without image guidance (i.e. overuse measure, lower performance is better).

        • 1.14 Numerator

          The number of patients who have received an epidural steroid injection during the eligible episode in the absence of radicular pain and patients with radicular pain who received an epidural injection without image guidance.

        • 1.15 Denominator

          The total patient sample of patients at least 18 years of age and younger than 80.
