1.3 Measure Description

Percentage of patients undergoing elective endovascular repair of asymptomatic infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) who die while in hospital. This measure is proposed for both hospitals and individual providers. The measure is currently reported in the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) Registry.

    • 1.14 Numerator

      Mortality following elective endovascular infrarenal AAA repair of asymptomatic AAAs in men with < 6 cm dia and women with < 5.5 cm dia AAAs

    • 1.15 Denominator

      All elective endovascular repairs of asymptomatic AAAs in men with < 6 cm dia and women with < 5.5 cm dia AAAs

    • Exclusions

      = 6 cm diameter - men
      = 5.5 cm diameter – women
      Symptomatic AAAs that required urgent/emergent (non-elective) repair
