DenominatorThe target population for this measure is individuals 18 years of age and older and prescribed long-term opioid therapy during the measurement year. Individuals are excluded if they have had any claims indicating a cancer diagnosis or hospice care at any time during the measurement year.
ExclusionsThe measure excludes individuals with: 1) a diagnosis of cancer at any time during the measurement year; or 2) hospice care at any time during the year.
