Prevent Standardized Waitlist Ratio (PSWR)
Description
The PSWR measure tracks the number of prevalent dialysis patients in a
practitioner (inclusive of physicians and advanced practice providers) group who are under the age of 75 and
were listed on the kidney or kidney-pancreas transplant waitlist or received a living donor transplant. For each
practitioner group, the Prevalent Standardized Waitlist Ratio (PSWR) is calculated to compare the observed
number of waitlist events in a practitioner group to its expected number of waitlist events.

Description
The measure captures the ratio of the number of patients, who are attributed to a clinician or practice, with a diagnosis of any stage of cognitive impairment over the expected number of
cases based on a predictive model.
Once the clinician’s or practice’s O/E ratio (i.e., ratio of the observed and expected rates) is calculated, a computation of its associated standard error (SE) can be used to draw inference whether the O/E ratio is significantly different from 1 or not.
