Safety: Overuse

This measure assesses patients with elective vaginal deliveries or elective cesarean births at >= 37 and < 39 weeks of gestation completed. This measure is part of a set of four nationally implemented measures that address perinatal care (PC-01: Elective Delivery, ePC-01: Elective Delivery; PC-02: Cesarean Birth, ePC-02: Cesarean Birth will be added as an eCQM 1/1/2020; PC-05: Exclusive Breast Milk Feeding, ePC-05: Exclusive Breast Milk Feeding; PC-06 Unexpected Complications in Term Newborns was added 1/1/2019).

This measure assesses the rate of nulliparous women with a term, singleton baby in a vertex position delivered by cesarean birth. 2022 submission:

Percentage of non-cardiac surgical patients aged 18 years and older undergoing procedures with the indications for prophylactic parenteral antibiotics AND who received a prophylactic parenteral antibiotic, who have an order for discontinuation of prophylactic parenteral antibiotics within 24 hours of surgical end time

Percentage of patients, regardless of age, with a diagnosis of prostate cancer at low (or very low) risk of recurrence receiving interstitial prostate brachytherapy, OR external beam radiotherapy to the prostate, OR radical prostatectomy who did not have a bone scan performed at any time since diagnosis of prostate cancer
