In-hospital mortality following elective EVAR of AAAs

Percentage of patients undergoing elective endovascular repair of asymptomatic infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) who die while in hospital. This measure is proposed for both hospitals and individual providers. The measure is currently reported in the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) Registry.

Inappropriate Pulmonary CT Imaging for Patients at Low Risk for Pulmonary Embolism

Percent of patients undergoing CT pulmonary angiogram for the evaluation of possible PE who are at low-risk for PE consistent with guidelines(1,2) prior to CT imaging.

Percentage of end stage renal disease (ESRD) patients aged 6 months and older receiving hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis during the time from October 1 (or when the influenza vaccine became available) to March 31 who either received, were offered and declined, or were determined to have a medical contraindication to the influenza vaccine.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Length-of-Stay (LOS)

For all eligible patients =18 years old admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU), total duration of time spent in the ICU until time of discharge from the ICU; both observed and risk-adjusted LOS reported with the predicted LOS measured using the Intensive Care Outcomes Model - Length-of-Stay (ICOMLOS).

For all adult patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU), the percentage of patients whose hospital outcome is death; both observed and risk-adjusted mortality rates are reported with predicted rates based on the Intensive Care Outcomes Model - Mortality (ICOMmort).
