Urinary Tract Infection Admission Rate (PQI 12)

  • Admissions with a principal diagnosis of urinary tract infection per 100,000 population, ages 18 years and older. Excludes kidney or urinary tract disorder admissions, other indications of immunocompromised state admissions, obstetric admissions, and transfers from other institutions.

    [NOTE: The software provides the rate per population. However, common practice reports the measure as per 100,000 population. The user must multiply the rate obtained from the software by 100,000 to report admissions per 100,000 population.]

Use of Iron Therapy for Pediatric Patients

  • Percentage of all pediatric (less than 18 years old) in-center hemodialysis, home hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis patients with hemoglobin less than 11.0 g/dL and in whom serum ferritin concentration was less than 100 ng/ml and TSAT less than 20% who received IV iron or were prescribed oral iron within the following three months.
