HIV medical visit frequency

  • Percentage of patients, regardless of age, with a diagnosis of HIV who had at least one medical visit in each 6-month period within 24 months with a minimum of 60 days between medical visits.

    A medical visit is any visit in an outpatient/ambulatory care setting with a nurse practitioner, physician, and/or a physician assistant who provides comprehensive HIV care.

Management of Urinary Incontinence in Older Adults (MUI)

  • The following components of this measure assess the management of urinary incontinence in older adults.

    - Discussing Urinary Incontinence. The percentage of Medicare members 65 years of age and older who reported having urine leakage in the past six months and who discussed their urinary leakage problem with a health care provider.

    - Treatment of Urinary Incontinence. The percentage of Medicare members 65 years of age and older who reported having urine leakage in the past six months and who treatment options for their current urine leakage problem.

MRI Lumbar Spine for Low Back Pain

  • This measure evaluates the percentage of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the lumbar spine studies for low back pain performed in the outpatient setting where conservative therapy was not attempted prior to the MRI. Antecedent conservative therapy may include claim(s) for physical therapy in the 60 days preceding the lumbar spine MRI, claim(s) for chiropractic evaluation and manipulative treatment in the 60 days preceding the lumbar spine MRI, or claim(s) for evaluation and management at least 28 days but no later than 60 days preceding the lumbar spine MRI.
